Canada, Quebec, Montreal, 25 May 2008, 60th anniversary of the Hell’s angels
2008 is the 60th anniversary of the original biker gang, the Hell’s Angels. Formed in 1948 and named after the US Air Force’s famed 303rd Bombardment aviators, the controversial, world-wide one per centers traditionally rode Harley-Davidson’s. Over the years several other motorcycle clubs, less controversial, referred to as 99 per centers have sprouted up. Like the Hell’s Angels they ride Harley’s and wear insignia on their jackets, several of which are represented in these photos. Once a year these clubs convene at Montreal’s St. Joseph’s Oratory to receive priestly blessings that they not have bike accidents. These photos were taken there.
