In 2004 I traveled through India in the skins of both a writer and a photographer. In the daytime I photographed India and in the night I wrote about Chechnya. In the 3 months that I was there I passed through more than 40 cities, towns and hamlets. I was courteously invited into many Indian homes and was graciously allowed to photograph the people that lived in them under initmate conditions. Although the traveling proved very long, slow and exhausting it remains one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
